Carpets are usually made of Nylon, Polyester, Triexta, Polypropylene, acrylic or wool. On the day of the clean a pre-spray will be used, then agitated this will ‘lift’ detach the dirt/stain from the carpet fibers. It will involve a period of time which in the industry is called dwell time, this can range from 5 minutes to 30 minutes depending on the severity of the dirt, heavy traffic areas i.e. door entrances are usually worst affected therefore need longer dwell time for the chemicals to activate.
Once the dwell time is over the technician will use a professional commercial extraction machine to ‘rinse’ the carpet of all the pre-spray, this usually also offers a further cleaning solution to return the carpets natural PH levels to normal and leave a nice fresh smell.
We as carpet cleaning professionals know there are cheap carpet machines on the market, either to hire or being used by carpet cleaners or odd jobbers. We don’t use these machines for a reason, they will only do 20% of the cleaning our machines do and most of the time do not remove the stains! Hence why we don’t use them, yes you could get your carpets cleaned for £20 a room, yes we charge considerably more but our machines cost £3000 upwards and are used by ALL professional carpet cleaners both domestic and commercial because we know they work, plus we know what chemicals to use to match which stain you’re removing.
